Physical pain is an adversity like no other, interfering with work, sleep, relationships, and even the ability to breathe. When acute or chronic pain impairs our quality of life, how can we regain a sense of normalcy? This workshop is for anyone whose physical discomfort from cancer treatments or side effects limits their daily activities and ability to appreciate life.
We’ll discuss factors that contribute to overall pain, including past history with trauma, family beliefs about bravery, and societal expectations around suffering. We’ll examine our own personal storytelling about acceptable and unacceptable discomfort. And we’ll use mindfulness techniques such as breathing exercises, visualization, and contemplative questioning to explore our moment-to-moment relationship with physical sensations.
Attend with loved ones online, from the comfort of home, to learn how mindfulness tools can empower you when life feels beyond your control.
